Introduction
Feb. 1st, 2012 12:06 pmHeya! I feel like I need to put some sort of introduction here, even though I'll put something similar on my profile (maybe I'll just copy-paste this there when I'm done). And I'm sure nobody's going to read this one. And anyways, I'm writing this mostly for myself, and I don't need an introduction to myself. Actually, thinking back, I did this in all my diaries too - and I DEFINITELY didn't want anyone reading those. Is that strange?
Well, theoretically posting something will make it easier for me to post more. Yeah.
ANYWAY, I'm a college student and chronic lurker. I'm studying abroad in Japan for the year, but I usually go to school in California. I'm REALLY shy. I mean, I'm slightly terrified of meeting someone online that I know in real life even though the odds are tiny. And I like to compartmentalize my internet life, too. I've had one and a half previous livejournal accounts and a fanfiction.net account, but you'll never hear about them from me (apart from now, of course).
Lets see...I've been studying Japanese for a long time, so I'm pretty so-so. My strong point is comprehension, weak point is conversations (especially with teachers).
My favorite fandoms to play in...Detective Conan and Final Fantasy VII, maybe? Hard to say, but those are two of the ones that I visit again and again. Detective Conan in particular has a really cozy fandom, which has kept me more interested in the series itself than I would otherwise be. Yugioh's also up there too - it has a special place in my heart as my first fandom. Special interests are crossovers and time-travel fics.
Favorite anime are Baccano!, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, and Natsume Yuujinchou. Mushishi and Moyashimon also make my top ten. None of them have a very big fandom, though. Favorite book (series) are Discworld (mostly those focused on the City Watch or Lipwig), the Wheel of Time, and the Dresden Files.
